How we handle the data of people who visit this site and write to us. Last updated: July 2026.
What we collect
We collect only the data you give us through the contact form: name, company (if any), email address, phone number and the text of your enquiry. For technical and security reasons the server also records the IP address, the date and time of the visit and the page requested.
Why we process it
Form data is used solely to answer your enquiry and, if it turns into an order, to manage the commercial relationship. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Art. 6.1.b of EU Regulation 2016/679) and our legitimate interest in replying and keeping the site secure (Art. 6.1.f).
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a commercial relationship are kept for a maximum of 24 months and then deleted. If you become a customer, the data is kept for the period required by accounting and tax obligations (10 years). Server logs are kept for a maximum of 12 months.
Who receives it
Data is never sold or passed to third parties for marketing. It may be processed on our behalf, and only as far as necessary, by our email provider and by our accountant. Data stays on servers located in the European Union.
Cookies used
To know how many people visit the site we measure visits with Umami, software installed on our own servers: it uses no cookies, does not record your full IP address and cannot be traced back to you. The data never leaves our servers and is not shared with anyone. The site uses one technical cookie, metal_lang, which remembers the language you chose and lasts one year. A second technical cookie, metal_cookie, stores your choice on this banner for one year. Neither identifies you and neither is shared. We use no profiling cookies, no third-party analytics and no social buttons.
External content
A map provided by OpenStreetMap may be loaded on the Contact page. It is loaded only if you consent: until then no request is sent to the external service. If you consent, OpenStreetMap receives your IP address. The site's fonts are hosted on our own servers, so displaying them involves no external connection.
Your rights
At any time you may ask to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, receive it in a machine-readable format, or object to processing based on legitimate interest. Just write to info@metal.srl and we will reply within one month. If you believe the processing breaches the rules, you may lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority (in Italy: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).
